Chattanooga-Area Morning Pointe Communities Collecting School Supplies For Samaritan Center

Morning Pointe Senior Living communities in the Chattanooga area are now collecting school supplies for The Samaritan Center in Ooltewah.

The back-to-school drive runs now through Aug. 3. Each Morning Pointe or The Lantern at Morning Pointe building has a dedicated drop-off barrel inside for donations to support the non-profit’s Stock Their Locker program.

Supplies needed include backpacks (no wheels, please), glue sticks, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, washable markers, notebooks, pencil boxes or pouches, two-pocket folders, scissors, ink pens and loose-leaf paper (wide-ruled). A more comprehensive list of items needed can be found on The Samaritan Center website.

“Morning Pointe’s partnership in our Stock Their Locker drive to ensure children in our area have the school supplies to set them up for success is an investment in the future of the children of our community,” said Rocquel Thompson, community relations coordinator at The Samaritan Center.

“Back-to-school drives are our community focus for the month of August for all of our buildings across the Southeast,” said Amanda Bauske, Morning Pointe’s vice president of life enrichment. “We are excited to partner with The Samaritan Center locally to help benefit families and children in need.”

Greg Vital, Morning Pointe co-founder, added, “Morning Pointe Senior Living has a long history of giving back to the community. We believe in making a difference, and the back-to-school drives are just one more way we can continue to make an impact in the communities we serve. It is wonderful to see our residents, families, associates and volunteers coming together for a worthy cause, and The Samaritan Center is such a great organization to support.”
